How do I start a game?
Open Record Rumble on the phone that has your speaker or TV attached — that's the host. Tap Host a Game, choose your settings, and the app will show a 6-character room code. Your friends open Record Rumble (or the web player) on their phones, tap Join a Game, and type the code.
How do I join a game?
Ask the host for the 6-character room code. Then open Record Rumble (or visit the game URL your host will share) and tap Join a Game, type the code, choose a name, and you're in.
The music won't play.
The host's phone needs an internet connection to stream the 30-second previews. If a specific song fails to load, the app will skip past it and move to the next round.
I got disconnected mid-game.
Just reopen the app. Record Rumble saves a short-lived session token so you'll rejoin the same room automatically, with your score intact.
Can I play with more than 8 people?
Yes — the server supports up to 16 players in a single room. For very large groups, tournament mode is more fun (players are eliminated each phase).
Where can I request songs?
Right now the catalog is fixed. If you want more songs of a specific era or genre, email us and we'll queue them up in a future update.
